In 2007, the Royal Multi-specialty Facility opened in Tirunelveli as a Newborn, Children, and Maternity Hospital. It has the zone's largest Level 3 NICU and PICU and modern technology for the care of critically ill neonates and children. Dr A. Syed Ibrahim, a distinguished neonatologist and paediatrician, developed and leads the facility, which acts as a referral centre for critically ill children from Tirunelveli and the surrounding regions in the south TamilNadu. The hospital has grown over time to become a multi-speciality facility that serves people of all ages and medical conditions.
